sight action

Sight Action is contracted by the NHS Highland, NHS Western Isles and the Highland and Western Isles Councils to provide patient support and rehabilitation to blind and visually impaired adults and children.

We can help visually impaired people cope safely and confidently around the home with improved independent living skills.

We have a range of equipment available in our resource centres for you to use or to purchase.

We can also provide a wide range of advice and we can provide emotional support.

Sight Action complements the clinical care provided by our health service colleagues. We help patients attending the eye clinic to fully understand their visual impairment and, if necessary, can liaise with the medical team to clarify areas of concern.

Anyone with a visual impairment can access our services or a family member or health professional can refer you.
